A proposal for the restoration of the historic mausoleums in Europe's largest park cemetery
The Ohlsdorf Cemetery of Hamburg, Germany, is the largest rural cemetery in the world. ACS is developing concept proposals for the object-specific restoration of the first two of a total of 24 mausoleums, which are to be conserved and restored over the next eight years. The architectural monuments are unique testimonies to the bourgeois burial culture and represent the economic success of the commercial metropolis on the Elbe river.
