A conservation inventory for Gauss and others
Updated: May 11, 2020
Important personalities from the fields of culture and science found their final resting place in the historic Albani cemetery in Göttingen. The mathematician, astronomer, geodesist and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777 - 1855) is probably the most prominent representative. ACS has now carried out an extensive conservation inventory of all the graves. The inventory system ACS-invent allows an inventory to be made according to objective criteria, a priority list to be drawn up and the cost framework for restoration to be outlined. After initial measures to preserve the substance of the tombs, the city of Göttingen now wants to carry out a complete restoration of the 60 preserved tombs.
